DESIGN DEVELOPMENT:
Design Goal: Provide sofa seating that maximizes solar exposure during Colorado winter months. Incorporate a gas firepit, pondless water feature, outdoor dining, and drought resistant turf. Additionally, add raised garden beds for gardening with partial shade at the peakheat of day. Plant palette provides additional privacy.
SCHEMATIC DESIGN:
Design Goal: The homeowner originally had a vision of adding “fan” shaped pergolas and an outdoor fireplace.After initial conceptual visualization, the client returned with a desire to add a bocce ball court, hot tub, fireplace seating, and an outdoor kitchen equipped with: wood pizza oven, smoker, beer taps, gas cook top, sink, and ice basin.
PLANTING PLAN:
Design Goal: This project provided a unique opportunity to reverse the design process. The homeowner had taken advantage of steep discounts at a garden center, but needed a plan. We provided a cohesive planting plan that took into consideration seasonal attributes, environmental needs, and mature plant size.
